Nassau, NY- (April 19, 2014) It has been six long months since Matt Pappa sat behind the wheel of his No. 20 Jr. Brett Hearn Racing Enterprises race car at the high banked Lebanon Valley Speedway. On Saturday night April 19th the Nassau hot shoe began his 2014 quest for the “Valley” Sportsman title.
Pappa finished 4th in his qualifying heat lining him up 12th for the 20 lap main event. If you were looking for a caution filled race you got what you wanted as the field slowed on numerous occasions due to early season mistakes by a number of racers. Matt guided his Teo chassis racer to a smooth and deliberate pace trying to work his way to the front.
“There wasn’t much passing tonight,” stated Pappa. “I had a problem with the brakes that made it tough for me to whoa the car down.” Matt avoided the yellow fever and brought his immaculate black and yellow beauty home to an eighth place finish in the 33 car field.
“It’s been a long winter here in Nassau,” added Matt. “I couldn’t wait to get back behind the wheel and race. Brett and the guys made a number of changes that I know will help me this season. I feel like with each week we will get stronger.”
Matt’s next race is this Saturday night, April 26th right back at Lebanon Valley Speedway. For marketing or media assistance please call Rolfe Schnur at 954-224-8661.
